Not your Nan’s Chardonnay. Try our fresh take on this classic variety

Do you think of chardonnay and turn up your nose in disgust? perhaps you have been damaged by the late 90’s chardy’s that Kath and Kim like to sip on? The ones that are heavily oaked and overly rich. Well move over Kimmy, the 6Ft6 chardonnay is here.

Contemporary, vibrant and fresh, It’s full of flavour, but its pure and balanced. Think citrus and a hint of orange peel on the nose and tropical fruit flavours with a green apple acidity non the palate. It’s a wine of complexity and zing that has a lovely balance of texture and flavour.

Chardonnay from the Yarra Valley

For our 2020 vintage, we have sourced this wine from a premium vineyard in the Yarra Valley in Victoria. As 6Ft6 is growing (thanks to you wine lover), our vineyards are producing only enough chardonnay for our Austin’s range. We wanted to keep offering this beautiful variety, so we searched far and wide for a chardonnay that is to our high quality standards. Our wine tasting team tasted many a chardonnays and unanimously decided on this for the 6Ft6 label.

It’s premium white wine, from a cool climate region in Victoria and fits in well with the rest of our range.

6ft6 white wine chardonnay

Here are some reasons why the 6Ft6 chardonnay is a crowd pleaser:

  • Yarra Valley  chardonnay and pinot noir are cousins so wherever pinot thrives, so will this delectable white wine variety. The cool climate region of the Yarra Valley is ideal for growing the chardonnay grape.
  • Quality control The 6Ft6 chardonnay is a sourced from a premium vineyard in the Yarra Valley. All wines sourced outside of our vineyard adheres to our quality assurance checks (and plenty of taste testing from the wine selection team!).
  • Enjoyment  Over the years, we have found that people react well to our fun/quirky and non-traditional approach to wine, and although we respect traditional wine-making and the techniques and expertise that is required to make exceptional wine, we try not to take ourselves too seriously
