6Ft6 Rosé 750ml
$25.00 – $150.00
If heaven had a flavour, it’d taste like this
The 6Ft6 rosé has a delightfully aromatic profile of rose petals, fresh strawberries and light spice, with a slight hint of watermelon. This well balanced, delicate, and dry rosé is ready to drink now. Serve it chilled or at room temperature and enjoy!
Everyone’s favourite rosé is currently out of stock. We’re anticipating that it will return in late June 2023.
“Forget a dozen roses, we’ll take a case of this rosé”
If Cinderella drank a toast at her wedding, it was probably with this rosé. But rosé is so much more that its pretty peachy-pink hue. With its hints of strawberries, red cherries and Turkish delight, it’s drinkable, structured and delicate. Some rosés can be overly dry, but this one ain’t.
Rosé is having a moment right now and it’s no wonder — a day of fun in the sun is complemented perfectly with a chilled, crisp glass of rosé. But it’s equally drinkable in winter; leave it at room temperature and enjoy the texture on a chilly evening.
Rosé is surprisingly versatile, but this is not one for the cellar. Buy, drink, repeat (responsibly). And oh, it goes beautifully with light dishes, think soft cheese (especially goats), chargrilled veggies and salmon or still-pink lamb salad with feta, spinach and mint.
Mouth-filling strawberries, red cherries and Turkish delight fill the palate. A very structured rosé, with lovely texture and low acidity, it compliments the natural sweetness of the fruit, leaving a well balanced delicate, dry rosé. It’s made to drink and enjoy early.
We recommend serving it chilled on a summer’s day or left at room temperature on a winter’s night.
Why 6Ft6 Rosé?
The DMAC effect
Our winemaker, Dwayne (aka DMAC), is one helluva fusspot when it comes to quality, and it totally shows. We won’t get too technical, but Dwayne has a persnickety way of wanting things [just so]. And you know what? You can’t argue with results. Every business needs a stickler for quality like DMAC and we adore his attention to detail that makes our wines oh-so amazing.
The fruit
Our rosé sells out every year. Our customers keep coming back to this rosé, as it’s a reliable choice in a huge field of unknowns. Due to the popularity of our rosé, you can always rest assured that what you are buying is as fresh as it gets.
Did you know that the French like to drink rose that is no more than two years old?
The terroir
(Terroir means soil, topography, and climate — fancy.) For farmers, the land is life, and we hit the jackpot with our vineyard in Geelong. We combine this impeccable fruit from the Strathbogie region to give us a great consistency of flavour. This means that you can be confident in the flavours to expect from us, year after year.
The fun
For us, wine is about enjoyment — sharing a glass or two to connect with your special humans, and spoil yourself. Whether you are relaxing after a long day or partying with friends, we have the wine to match. We’re not about being snooty, inaccessible or using confusing language. We’re just an everyday farming family, making great wine and enjoying a few laughs along the way. Cheers to that, hey?
Vegan wine
Vegans, raise your glasses, because all of the 6Ft6 range is vegan, i.e. it’s c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y free of animal products. You’d think wine, being made from grapes, is always vegan — but not so. Learn more about it here, on this creatively titled article ‘Is all wine vegan friendly?’
The planet
We want to care for this planet — it’s the only one with wine! Sustainability has been at the forefront of our business since we started in 1982. Working daily on the land, we see first-hand the effects of climate change, and it’s devastating. We continually make improvements to ensure our footprint is kept to a minimum by:
- replanting trees on our property—we have planted over 75,000 trees since 1990
- using 100% recyclable packaging, which means our cartons are a little bit fugly but a lot more sustainable
- investing heavily in irrigation systems and vineyard treatments such as straw and natural soils to reduce unnecessary water usage
So, when you buy from us, you buy a wine that’s as good for the planet as possible.
Tasting Notes
This fragrant and delightful rosé has an amazing aromatic profile, with watermelon, guava, spice and a hint of cotton candy. Mouth-filling strawberries, crunchy raspberries and turkish delight fill the palate. It has a refreshingly clean, dry and delicate finish. Made to drink and enjoy early, we recommend serving it chilled on a summers day or leave at room temperate on a winters’ night.
Pair our rosé with a creamy brie, a punnet of strawberries and a plate of cut watermelon. Or, for something savoury, enjoy a cheese board of salmon, dried fruits and a fresh crusty baguette.

The Moorabool Valley is continental in nature, close to the Southern Ocean and dry in summer. The unique cool climate gives our wines full ripeness and beautiful finesse. The Austin’s vineyard is made up of 90 acres of pinot noir, which includes seven different pinot noir clones, each bringing unique flavour. Pinot noir makes up the majority of the 2021 6Ft6 Rosé.
VINTAGE 2022
The 2022 growing season threw many challenges (hailstorms, severe rain, earthquake!!), however luckily, we here at Austin’s dodged several the major weather events and overall had a successful vintage. 2021 had the highest October rainfall on record, however the weather gods were kind from February onwards. There was consistent ripening weather and lovely cool nights to optimise flavour development. The soil retained plenty of moisture from the consistent rain, which facilitated ripening without putting the vines under stress.
