6Ft6 Chardonnay – Photoshoot BTS

It isn’t all work and no play here at 6Ft6! We are constantly working on different projects and we thought why not give you a taste of a day in the life at our office. We love the opportunity to get out among the vines and let our creative sides burst, so when it came to talking about the Chardonnay photo shoot ideas were flying around the room.

Our primary goal for the photoshoot was to transform every thing you taste while sipping our new 6Ft6 Chardonnay into an image, so even before your lips touch the glass your taste buds are already going crazy. As you can see from the imagery now rolling out across our socials, the marketing team came to the conclusion that the best way to reflect what you get in the bottle is a picnic in the vines during Autumn surrounded by fresh local food and produce.

After scouring Pinterest for ideas on the set up, the type of shots we were after and what props were needed for the shoot we put together a colour palette. The Chardonnay has a citrus and zesty taste about it, to reflect this we used colours such as yellow, orange and green with touches of neutral greys and browns and wooden features to tone down the overwhelming brightness. Getting the colour palette and angles of the images correct assisted in highlighting the main elements in the image which in this case was the Chardonnay bottle.

When it came to collecting props, believe it or not majority of what we used came from the property. We had props from the office kitchen, Belinda’s house and Pam’s Cupboard and also KMART and Target. We were lucky enough to get the brilliant team at Annie’s Kitchen to put together an amazing spread featuring a mixture of different elements, from quiche and chicken sliders to fruit and greens to cheese, bread and honey! All the apples, pears, plums and grapes in the basket were freshly hand picked off the Austin’s property just before the shoot took place.

Before we saw any success through the lens it took a million and one changes to the placement of all props used, right down to the leaves. Once we got the first shot we were on a roll with snap after snap. We wanted a range of different imagery that passed on a visual message, so we did seven combinations which will be rotated throughout the Chardonnay campaign. You will see the imagery ranging from the basket full of fresh produce, to the picnic area, to the 6Ft6 Chardonnay bottle flying solo.

The 6Ft6 Chardonnay photo shoot was extremely fun to put together and it has been exciting watching it come to life through your screens. Be sure to let us know what you think about the drop and photo shoot!
